What's new?
Peach Bottom Farm will be joining us this week.  When fruits are in season, the Miller family works very hard to harvest fresh fruit the day before the market and they wake up early on Saturday mornings to bake them into delicious treats.  The Millers also bring us Pequea Valley Farm yogurt and dairy products from Jersey Cows, fresh fruit, and produce.

Hello Market Shoppers,

Opening weekend was a great success!  We hope to see you this weekend to gather up more of Spring's bounty.
Due
the Dogwood Festival Parade, the Phoenixville Farmers' Market will be at a temporary location for this Saturday only.   We will be in the parking lot by New Century Bank (in the borough) at 99 Bridge St, Phoenixville.  There is plenty of parking for all!
We will be here rain or shine from 9-1 PM.
The Dogwood Parade starts at 1pm at the Justice Center. The route goes east on Bridge Street, turns right onto Main Street and ends just past Reeves Park. Bridge and Main Streets will be closed to traffic during the parade so please plan your drive into town and your parking carefully!

Arugula Farm Salad with Maple Apple Turkey Sausage

After the market last week, I brought some of these delicious turkey sausages to a cookout.  Everyone loved them!

For the salad:

3 cups (packed) arugula leaves, whole if small, torn if large
1/2 cup crumbled goat cheese, or other sharp cheese (or cut into small pieces)
1/2 medium Vidalia, or other sweet onion, thinly sliced
1/2 cup of pine nuts, lightly toasted
1/4 cup of olive oil

Spread the arugula on a serving platter.  Sprinkle the cheese over the leaves. Strew the onion slices over the cheese.  Sprinkle the pine nuts over the onions.  Drizzle the oil over the top.

For the sausage:

1 package of sausage (turkey, chicken, or pork).  I used the Maple Apple Turkey sausage, but choose whichever appeals to you!

simmer sausages for 12 minutes in water.  Then, grill or sautee for about 10-15 more minutes.  Cool slightly and cut into 1-2 inch pieces.  Add to the salad and enjoy!!
