Dear Lovers of Love and Pleasure...

I've had several opportunities lately to look deeper into myself and the reasons I desire certain experiences and the reasons I push other experiences away.  The patterns and "reasoning" behind the patterns shock me at times. This week's article will invite you to look at some of the parts of you that you might avoid... or the parts of you that you have a push-pull, love-hate relationship with.  That's most often been the case for me... I have something I crave, I long for, I desire... and simultaneously another part of me is pushing that very experience away.

My desire for the coming weeks is to own my desire... to acknowledge and accept every desire, every longing, every emotion that arises and not push it away.  I may not always do something with it, but I'm committed to embracing it.  It feels like an infinite expression of self love.

Article: Sexual Personalities...Are You Expressing Yours?
  

Is there a part of you that you don't let out to play?  Have you wondered if there's more to sex than what you've experienced so far?  Are you curious about aspects of sexuality and intimacy that you've never explored?  Are you sometimes embarrassed or even ashamed of your sexual desires?  Do you even know what your full sexual potential really is? Is sex a topic that's hard to talk about - even with your lover or best friend?

 

I find these questions curious and I'm amazed by how many of us have limited our sexual exploration and expression.  One of the "7 Secrets of Happy, Lasting Passionate Relationships", sexual and physical intimacy play a critically important part in our relationship, yet it remains one of the most repressed topics of conversation.  That, combined with the different sexual desires and needs of men and women, make it one of the top areas of conflict between us.
