March 2012

Dear Friends,

I am so excited for some events that are happening in the next month: Thomas's First Communion, Easter Sunday,  the day after the tax deadline and my birthday!   April is a month of joyful events!   It is so important to feel the abundance of good events in your life and create habits that pull you in that direction when life isn't so joyful.

As I am busy working on all the tax returns to be done by the April 17, I am so grateful for all the good habits I have created in my life to keep the "Joy" in my life during this busy time.  So I have decided to share a few good habit ideas in my monthly solutions below.

I would encourage you create abundance in your life just by creating a habit of stopping and thinking of some of the good and fun-filled events coming up in your life!

JOY can be created in just a moment. Take the time to pivot towards the life you want!

Blessings of Abundance,

Debbie

Financial Solution....

Three Ideas to help you create good habits for your Finances!

monthly filesFirst, I would suggest organizing your financial records by month instead of by category. It saves you time because you don't have to individually file each paper. After paying the weekly bills, all receipts go in the folder for the month. Also, when you need to archive a year or two, it is already by date. But what if you need a certain receipt for some thing; most times I can remember approximately what month something happened in to find a receipt. I personally organize my financial papers with two folders for each month - one for "personal" and one for "business".

Second, create a good habit of doing your financial to-do's on a systematic basis either 5 minutes per day or 35 minutes per week. Every Friday, I pay bills and update my Quickbooks.  If you have a business, do your business bookkeeping every month or week so that at tax time, you don't have sooooo much to do. It will help lessen the feeling of being overwhelmed and stressed out about needing to get it done. Can you imagine the feeling of abundance in coming to tax time very organized! I can see it for you.

envelope systemLastly, envelopes - large and small are your friends for organizing your financial receipts.  Envelopes are the best low tech way to organize your receipts. The important factor of the envelope system is to write the details of the expense on the outside of the envelope and this way you never have to look at the actual receipt again.  Adding up the expenses by category on the outside of the envelope is easy compared to looking at individual receipts. It also saves time when you are trying to locate one receipt in particular, should you need it for anything. People who use cash for business expenses are always struggling to summarize and the envelope system might add an abundance of more deductions to your taxes.

Financial Solution....

One simple idea to create a habit of an abundance mentality!

$100 billTake a $100 bill and place it in your wallet or purse.

Have fun everywhere you go spending that $100 in your mind!  How many times in that day can you spend it?

It will allow you to feel abundance on all the things you could buy or people you could help.  I got this idea from the book Ask and It Is Given

When I carried around the $100 bill, not only did I have fun with spending it but I seemed to attract more money too!  It was so much fun!

Please feel free to email me with your experiences with having a $100 in your pocket too!
