January 7, 2011                                              Issue 18

Dear Friends,

Let's start this New Year right by doing what Lucille Ball says,

"Love yourself first and everything falls into line."

It is really that simple and easy to manifest our dreams and goals, but we stop the flow of abundance before it begins because our minds chatter stuff that we wouldn't say in front of our children.

Start breaking that habit and read this article,  How To Love Yourself in 17 Ways.

It really isn't about the money, or the bills, or the significant other, it is about how we feel about ourselves that truly is the "magic" source of healing, peace and joy. You deserve abundance because you are "wonderfully made", as it states in the bible:

"I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way. What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well. "

Psalm 139: 14 (New Century Version)
Find different translations of this bible quote here.

So take care of you first and love yourself more.

  I give you permission.

You deserve abundance in 2011.

Blessings of Abundance,

Debbie

1. What is my personal net worth?

Financial abundance starts with knowing your financial picture.  Your net worth is a helpful scorecard.  This is the first place I start with my financial planning clients to know their financial picture.

To calculate your personal net worth, take all your assets minus your liabilities. So your assets are your home, your car, your 401K, investments, stocks, and cash.  Your liabilities are all your debt including credit cards, mortgages, or loans.   Here is an example that will help you to calculate your personal net worth.

Assets:                         Amount

Car                              $    5,000

Home                            400,000

401K                             200,000

Stocks/Mutual Funds   30,000

Cash                                 10,000

      Total Assets            645,000

Liabilities                      Amount

Car Loan                      $   2,000

Home Mortgage          100,000

Credit Cards                      2,000

      Total Liabilities       104,000

      Net Worth              $541,000

Once you calculate your personal net worth, you can set goals and implement a plan to grow abundance in your life.

Tip2. Warning: New monthly bank fees for 2011.

You need to check with your banking institutions that you are going to receive the same services for the same price this year.  Harborone and Citizens have added monthly service fees unless you use direct deposit or bill pay. I encourage you to be proactive and close any accounts you are not currently using.  I know that Crescent Credit Union and Rockland Trust still have a free checking account and I have enjoyed good relationships with both of those banks. Be very intentional as to which bank you want to do business and keep your abundance flowing and growing by using the best bank that meets your needs.
