To welcome 2009, my 3rd annual Budget Bottles
(part 1) is cutting costs and focusing on
wines under $17. I feel I have to do my part
to make sure you all keep drinking wine -
perhaps more in-house than out, perhaps
you'll spend a couple bucks less per bottle
but make sure you just keep drinking it. This
is a good time to experiment, try an
affordable bottle from a country you haven't
before (if anyone questions your selections
tell them to mind their own budget).
In 2009s first edition newsletter,
celebrating
Wine Diva's 5th year, I am also
featuring some
of my November trip to Chile on WineScores.ca
- see below
for some introductions to the unique D.O's of
Chile.
And, Vancouver Playhouse
International Wine Festival tickets go on
sale on January 27th! Jump in, don't
hesitate as there are some great events and
tastings including something I've been mulling
over for a couple of years - A "women of
wine" event that is cheekily named Diva(s)
at the Met on March 24th.
I have gathered a group of women from around
the world
(including BC) who are in the grape trade -
winemakers, proprietors, marketers...We'll
taste, hear how these fabulous women got to
where they are and then we'll shmooze, gab,
eat and DRINK! It's going to be a
blast so make sure to get your tickets
asap.
See you
there!
Cheers, Daenna
Coming up in next: Part 2 of Wine
Diva's
annual Budget Bottles (under $17) and more
Chilean wine
adventures... and
Don't
forget to visit
winescores.ca
and winediva.ca for new wine reviews
every
day!
Pink and Cheeky...
