The Mark West label only bottles Pinot Noir
and this one is brilliant ruby in colour. It's attractively
priced with earthy aromas of black cherry, cocoa,
toasted oak, leather and savoury herbs. The entry is
dry, with an earthy, dusty texture, the mid-palate is
silky. Flavours are dark berry/cherry with cedar,
tobacco and spice tones that linger through the
finish. $19.99 BC
Jackson~Triggs 'Proprietors' Grand Reserve' Sauvignon Blanc, Okanagan Valley BC, 2006
new review
Aromatic and fragrant with creamy pear, pineapple
and vanilla, grass cuttings, golden kiwi and honey
tones. Crisp on the palate the edges rounded gently
giving a smooth layer to the acidity - fresh fruit, grass
and spice flavours that linger on the finish. Very
good. $19.99 winery only
Yalumba Shiraz~Viognier, Barossa Valley Australia, 2006
new review
A stunning ruby-purple colour with aromas of
blackberry and juicy berries, eucalyptus, pepper and
mocha with floral undertones. Smooth and lush with
bright acidity - showing attractive flavours of mulberry,
allspice, vanilla and pepper - youthful tannins and
spice on the finish. $16.49 BC
