Wines to taste at Playhouse Wine Fest...

Santa Rita "Floresta" Sauvignon Blanc, Leyda Chile

Santa Rita Floresta Hailing from the cooler climate region of Leyda, the Santa Rita Floresta Sauvignon Blanc is mouth- wateringly good!
Crisp with smoky aromas, appealing minerality, cut grass and gooseberry with lemony notes. On the palate it is zippy and dances about on your tongue but has a lovely weight with grassy, papaya and passionfruit flavours and fresh citrus.

Saxenburg Guinea Fowl (white), Coastal Region, South Africa
makes a debut at the 2008 wine festival

Saxenburg GF white A blend of two of my favourite grape varietals (Chenin Blanc 78% and Viognier 22%) it's a mosaic of bold aromas. Young pineapple, melon and apricots in honey with crisp citrus, cut grass and exotic floral notes. Warmly spiced, silky and lush with mouth- watering pink grapefruit flavours. A smidge hot on the palate but wonderfully balanced flavours that would pair briliantly with spicy dishes.
$18.99
(available for purchase in March 2008)

More wines to taste at wine fest...

Domaine Lignres, Cabanon de Pascal, Corbieres France

Domaine Lingres From one of the Kendall-Jackson Family's recently acquired French Estates.
A blend of Grenache, Merlot and Mourvedre it's earthy and rustic in true old world style. Red fruit, tobacco and leather aromas with a smoothly elegant texture, fresh ground pepper and cherry on the palate with great acidity and smooth tannins.
Look for the Domaine Ligneres wines being poured at the Vancouver Playhouse Wine Fest.
