Bimbadgen Ridge Sparkling Semillon, SE Australia

Bimbadgen Ridge sparkling A first for me, this sparkling Semillon made from grapes from the Yenda region of SE Australia is a great value sparkler!
Briliant golden yellow in colour with aromas of orange blossoms, apple and lime with hints of toast. On the palate its crisp and refreshing with verve and it will pair wonderfully with creamy cheeses or seafood starters!

 Mionetto IL Rose, Veneto Italy
(keep this one in mind for Valentines)

Il Rose A glorious watermelon-cranberry colour infused with the fragrance of summer flowers, juicy red berries and melon with a pinch of white pepper. Il Rose is just bubbly enough to tickle your tastebuds and is sufficiently dry showing cherries, dried berries and crisp citrus rind flavours. This pretty sipper is made from a blend of the Merlot, Cabernet and Raboso grape varietals but will also pair well with a variety of appetizers.

 Bubbly Buddy-The Screwpull Cork Catcher
 Very cool toy!

screwpull I'm not a fan of gimmicky wine toys but ooooh boy is this one a keeper!
A screw-capped wine wins my lazy award, a classic crank gets my vote for corks and I have been known to grab the cleaver and saber the head off a troublesome bottle of bubbly (heads up!).
But this is the cats-meow for those bubbly bottles.
Simply place the Screwpull over the cork (remove foil and cage first) and twist gently. The cork releases into the top of this elongated tool and removes easily.
Classy and idiot proof!

Available at Williams Sonoma for $58.00
