 Playing Doctor
A little Aussie TLC for your fine vintage

Penfolds sticker

The "wow" factor is generally applicable to those who are actually interested in what is "wowing" them. For instance, I'm easily impressed with anything made from fermented grapes (and fabulous shoes) but show me the ultimate power tool or the engine of a Ferrari...not so much. But, last Friday I was wowed by a little afternoon delight at a Vancouver hotel--some TLC involving not only wine, but tools and heavy equipment.
And, I might add (if those things don't already impress) it also included men--with Australian accents...

Have I got your attention yet?

Lanson "Black Label" Brut Champagne France

Lanson Black Label The Lanson has all the elements I love in Champagne...delicate bubbles with loads of fruit and floral aromas.

A Mano "Bianco", Puglia Italy, 2006

Amano white From one of my favorite Primitivo producers A Mano comes this newly released white, a screw-topped 50/50 blend of the indigenous varietals Fiano and Greco di Tufo. A rich straw colour with gold glints the Bianco reminds me of my favorite lemon/lime Calippo ice-pops showing lime and sweet lemon, stone mineral and honeysuckle aromas. On the palate it's crisp on the entry with citrus zest then smooths out mid-palate with sweet herbal flavours and has a refreshing finish with lingering lemon-pepper.
Intriguing!
