I promise not to do this to you again next week.
Heck, I promise not to do this to myself next week.
But, with new wines piling up and the amazing visitors that have slid through town flogging their grape-y wares I felt I would be remiss by not passing along the current flavours.
Perhaps more importantly my just launched "live-time" Top5!
The Top5 are the most highly scored wines (scored by you-the readers) from my data-base of over 730 reviews.
That's Top5 reds, whites, rose, bubbles, dessert and OVERALL Top5!
This is important peeps--its in your hands...or your mouths if you prefer.

We now return to our regularly scheduled program.

 Wine Diva's new Top 5!

Tarapaca "La Cuesta" Maipo Valley Chile, 2005

Tarapaca La Cuesta Smoky plums and cherries with earthy background aromas. Vibrant cassis and spiced chocolate flavours, nice acidity and just a bit of grip on the finish.
Master winemaker Ed Flaherty took over the winemaking reins just over a year ago. Ed has an impressive CV and has made wine in Europe, the USA and now Chile for 14 years. You'll notice his love of ripe, fruit forward wines and a subtle shift in Tarapaca starting with the 2007 vintage.
Cabernet Sauvignon 60%, Syrah 40%.

Casas Del Bosque Sauvignon Blanc 2006

Casas Del Bosque SB This suberbly clean Sauvignon Blanc is brillaintly pale touched with green glints. It shows passionfruit, cut grass, kiwi and fresh mineral aromas. The flavours are lemon rind and green herbs with refreshing acidity and a long crisp finish.

 Carmen Pinot Noir 2005

Carmen PNoir 05 I love a well priced Pinot Noir!
Vibrant cherry and berry aromas with violets, smoke, tobacco and leather. On the palate it is smooth and earthy with more sweet berry, herbs and cedar box flavours.
Pair it with a smoked cheese and it will rock your world!
Excellent value.
