Grant Burge 'The Holy Trinity' GSM, Barossa 2002

Holy Trinity Unless you've been hiding out under an old world rock you've likely heard of "The Holy Trinity". You don't need to understand the Trinity's religious significance--"The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit" to enjoy the wine either. At the end of the day it's a great name for a great wine that combines the trinity of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvedre.
Concentrated aromas and flavours--intense berry and dark cherry aromas, coffee, dark floral, spice and mint chocolate. Layered flavours, smooth spiced chocolate, dried fruit and coffee liquer that clings to the palate and lingers seductively on the tongue.
'The Holy Trinity' is made from combined Barossa vines that are 50-110+ years old.

Simon Gilbert Shiraz, Central Ranges 2005

Simon Gilbert Shiraz The Simon Gilbert "Card Collection" has it in spades. Each varietal boasts a different elegant card label that manages to avoid "critter label" status. The bottles are now screw-capped keeping the juice fresh and the prices are very, very appealing.
The Shiraz has a deep ruby-hue with dark roasted coffee, briary fruit and chocolate aromas. On the palate it's wonderfully smooth with sweet berry fruit, pepper and nicely integrated dusty cocoa-mocha flavours on the finish.

Paxton AAA Shiraz Grenache, McLaren Vale 2005

Paxton AAA This striking bottle holds good juice! 72% Shiraz blended with one of my favorite red grapes...Grenache. Sweet mixed berries, a suggestion of dark flowers and warm spice. Silky and rich on the palate with juicy dark fruit, eucalyptus, licorice and more warm spice on the finish.
Smooth and delish!

 Lindeman's Reserve Coonawarra Cabernet 2005

Lindeman's Coonawarra Cab A wonderful example of an exceedingly quaffable Cabernet at a great price!
Blackberry and raspberry, mint chocolate, cola spices and vanilla. Fresh fruit on the entry, the flavours deepen and become earthier on the mid-palate and finish with smoke, tobacco and oak spice.

De Bortoli Petit Sirah NSW 2006

DeBortoli Petit Syrah A lush, opaque purplish tone with seductive aromas that jump out of the glass. Creamy, jammy dark fruit, chocolate-y mocha, ripe berries and spearmint. On the palate it has clean fruit flavours--juicy blueberries, coffee, tobacco and chocolate with tight tannins on the finish.
Highly recommended-great value!
