 Tasting Washington
Washington Hills Riesling, Columbia Valley, 2005

Washington Hills riesling The Washington Hills Riesling is lush in aromatics and in flavour. This ripe Riesling is oozing sun- warmed peaches, honey, grapefruit, green apples and minerals. Long and clingy on the palate it is slightly sweet but has a clean fresh finish.

Pendulum Red Columbia Valley Washington, 2004

Pendulum The Pendulum has deep, dark aromas-black cherry and blackberry, smoke and cured meat, menthol and savoury herbs, fresh turned earth and warm spices.
The palate follows suit with intense flavours, it's earthy and leathery with hints of chewy dried fruit and spice. Decant if possible.

A Wine Diva Feature - Shelf Talkers
 Perfect for Agents and Retailers

Shelf Talkers are perfect for agents who need them quickly and don't have in house printing. Or for all you Retailers-private beer and wine stores in and outside of Vancouver who read Wine Diva religiously, carry the products I review and want to have your own "Pink & Cheeky" Wine Diva talkers.
You can print them in black and white or in colour. (Just remember to set you advanced printer settings and check off "colour").
There are four per page-all different-and they print out exactly as you see them on the page.
You can see all the available shelf talkers by clicking on the Shelf Talkers menu item on the left side of the site. If a wine review has a shelf talker, it a link will appear in the review. If you want to know how to get a shelf talker made for your wine contact me at daenna@winediva.ca

 How Cheesy!
 Trailhead Tomme

trailhead tomme Made by Mt. Townsend Creamery in Port Townsend Washington this traditionally made tomme popped up on a few restaurant lists I visited as well as a quaint little specialty foods store I popped into in Pike Place Market.
Being a) a cheese fan, b) a tomme fan and c) a fan of trying out the local wares I had to purchase a slice to bring home.
What wonderful, mild, nutty flavour slightly sweet and mushroomy yet buttery on the palate.
A delicious find and worth seeking on your next trip to Washington State!

Hardy's Oomoo Shiraz, McLaren Vale Australia, 2005

Oomoo Shiraz I fell hard for this label the first time I saw it. Not sure if its the Victorian-styled label or the wild Aussie creatures frolicking under "Oomoo".
"Oomoo means "good" in Aussie vernacular and I would agree.
This Shiraz releases aromas of violets and sweet cherries, spice, vanilla and leather with juicy flavours of ripe mixed berries, tobacco, cocoa and pepper.
