Rowena Wildlife Clinic

The Rowena Wildlife Clinic was established about 12 years ago. They provide care for wildlife and strays that can't be handled by local veterinary clinics. There are about 250 admissions a year at the clinic, with 30 or so animals at the facility on most days. The animals they care for range in size from bats to beavers, with the most numerous patients being small songbirds and raptors. At Rowena Wildlife Clinic their goal is to return all of their patients to full health, and to release them in their home territories, which happens half of the time. Of the other half, most die shortly after admission, a few must later be euthanized, and some are placed with educational facilities, such as the Gorge Discovery Center. The Rowena Wildlife Clinic wants to thank the people in our community who look after their backyard wildlife, and rescue the few needing help. They consider those people to be the true heroes in the animal world.
