During The Month Of September

Last month our Acupuncturists Carola, Nikol and Rebecca attended continuing Acupuncture education training with Dr. Richard Tan in San Francisco. They have returned very excited, inspired and look forward to sharing the newest treatment approaches they learned with our clients.
Carola participated in, and finished, the Aluminum Man Sprint Triathlon in The Dalles
This was the fourth time Carola has taken part in this local event.
She enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, the support of all of the volunteers, including one of our current clients who marked the race numbers on Carola's arms and legs for her, and off course the scenery and athletic challenge.
Carola looks forward to returning again next year. Way to go Carola!

During The Month Of October
We will be offering FREE Happy Hour Acupuncture Treatments in exchange for donations to the Goldendale Community Food Bank.
The recent wildfires surrounding Goldendale have emptied the shelves of the Goldendale Community Food Bank.
During the month of October, when you donate a minimum of 10 items of food, Cascade Acupuncture, in The Dalles, will extend to you a FREE Happy Hour Acupuncture Treatment.

 Giving Back
As part of our community involvement each month we have decided to honor and support at least one local non-profit organization. The organizations selected will be able to share who they are in our newsletter and all of their employees and volunteers receive a free Happy Hour treatment in our clinics during "their" month as a "thank you" for all they do.
Over the past several months we have been honoring different organizations which are now all housed under the parent organization The Next Door Inc. www.nextdoorinc.org.
This month, we are featuring: The Administration Department of The Next Door Inc.
The Next Door, like most non-profits, has an Administration Department. At The Next Door Inc., 25 different programs are under one administrative umbrella. The Administration Department provides leadership and manages fundraising, payroll, accounting, billing, public relations, contract management, governmental affairs and a host of other responsibilities. Providing these functions frees up their direct service staff so they can work with children and families to improve their lives. Due to facing multiple budget cuts in state contracts, they are now relying on volunteers for reception and administrative tasks. To volunteer a few hours a week, please call Jenni Vizcarra at 541-436-0302.
