Violin soloist performs May 4 at Heights High
Each fall Cleveland Heights High School seniors sign up to audition for the coveted senior soloist spots in the instrumental music department (IMD) season programs. One honored senior this year is Kelsey Ferguson who will be on stage playing Mendelssohn's "Violin Concerto in E minor" at a symphony concert on Friday, May 4. A daughter of two music professionals, Ferguson began playing piano at age three and took up violin in fourth grade as a part of the CH-UH school district music program. Several chamber groups will play a pre-concert program at 6:30 p.m. in the Heights High Social Room. The joint performance by the Symphonic Winds and Orchestra will follow at 7:30 in the auditorium. Other upcoming instrumental and vocal music programs at the high school include: Jazz Night, Friday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m., and Vocal Concert, Friday, May 18, at 7:00 p.m.

Two studies are underway to develop and enhance bicycle and transit accommodations in the greater University Circle area and Cleveland Heights to encourage people to bike or take transit rather than drive: The Circle-Heights Bicycle Network Plan and The Missing Links Transportation study. Please take the time to participate in an online survey, which will identify and prioritize a number of issues, facilities and features that are associated with these two projects. Completing this survey will help shape the future of alternate mode travel in Cleveland Heights and University Circle. The survey can be found here.
