Heights Homecoming Parade and Game are Today!
Today's homecoming festivities kicked off with a Pep Rally on October 21 at 3 p.m. in the South Gym at Heights High. That will be followed by a Homecoming Parade at 6 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to wear black and gold and support Tiger Nation! Heights cheerleaders and the Heights High marching band will lead everyone from the Delisle Center at South Taylor and Superior Roads, down Washington Boulevard and into the football stadium. The Heights Tigers football team takes on Warren G. Harding High School with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Students who participate in the parade will receive a wrist band and get into the game for free. The Heights Tigers football team is undefeated and ranked 11th in the Plain Dealer poll and 3rd in the region for computer points. In addition to the Homecoming Game, there will be a celebration of Senior Night for the marching band, cheerleaders, and football team.

Be Part of a Community Conversation with CH-UH Superintendent Doug Heuer Monday at Oxford School Reaching Heights is hosting a community conversation at Oxford  | | CH-UH Superintendent Doug Heuer | Elementary School, 939 Quilliams Rd., this Monday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m., with CH-UH Superintendent Doug Heuer regarding the need for this year's school levy, along with major educational initiatives such as the K-12 Pathways. This is an opportunity to ask questions and participate in a discussion about the future of our schools and community, and meet meet Oxford's first-year principal, Joseph Nicklos. Lake Erie Ink, a Writing Space for Youth, Invites You to a Fall Celebration and Open House Oct. 30 Lake Erie Ink, a writing space for youth, holds a Fall Celebration and Open House on Sunday, Oct. 30, 3-5 p.m., in their new home at Coventry School, 2843 Washington Blvd. in Cleveland Heights. Celebrate with guest artists Cavana Faithwalker and Ray McNiece, along with Lake Erie Ink writers. Enjoy activities for all age from haikus to tattoos. Lake Erie Ink provides creative expression opportunities and academic support to youth in the Greater Cleveland area. The Sound of Music at Heights High Nov. 3, 4, 5 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 6 at 4 p.m.

The cast will include more than 600 students in four performances, including 200 high school vocal music students, 75 instrumental students in the pit orchestra, 30 stage crew members, and 120 middle school and 250 elementary students in the chorus. Heights Alumni Foundation's 11th Annual Cocktail Party is Nov. 10 at Rockefeller's in the Heights Rockefeller Bldg. The Cleveland Heights High School Alumni Foundation holds its biggest event of the year, the 11th Alumni Foundation Cocktail Party, Thursday, Nov. 10, 7-10 p.m.at Rockefeller's @ the Heights Rockefeller Building, 3099 Mayfield Road, at Lee, in Cleveland Heights. This event helps fund scholarships, grants and the operations of the Alumni Foundation. Admission is $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Catch up with fellow grads over appetizers and desserts at Rockefeller's in the former Cleveland Trust Bank branch. Enter a raffle to win an Apple iPad or 40" flat-panel TV.
