Greetings!
Welcome to my first "Wednesday Yoga Update".

My intention is to inspire you to join me and practice as we venture on this very human spiritual journey together. Your presence makes a difference to me and to everyone in the class.

This is an invitation to use the power of the group, the sanga, to support you on your path and to share the benefits of your practice with all who have gathered.

If you are interested in going deep inside - stay tuned each week.

Jai bhagwan (I bow to the light in you)

In the Beginning
Best to start any new venture right where you are and invoke the support of Ganesh - the remover of obstacles. This is the mantra to honour Ganesh - see statues to the right.

Om Gum Ganapatayei Namaha
(OM GUM GUH-NUH-PUH-TUH-YEI NAHM-AH-HA)

Say it a few times and notice how it feels. Hmmm...
Practice mantra meditation with Deva Premal here from her CD "Mantras for Precarious Times".

"Life is short. Time is fleeting. The world is full of misery. Cut the knots of Avidya [illusion or ignorance], and drink the Nirvanic Bliss. The day on which you do not perform any Japa is simply wasted."

Swami Sivananda

Japa is the repetition of mantra.
