Greetings to our 8,006 subscribers,  Sayulita visitors and residents have been enjoying beautiful sunsets this past week and although the surf has been down, there have been great water conditions for swimming and taking leisurely paddle-board adventures around the bay. The good news for surfers is that waves are expected to pick up this weekend.
The Olympic games can been viewed in various establishments in Sayulita and soccer fans can enjoy the big game tomorrow morning as Mexico plays in the finals against Brazil for the Gold Medal. It is the first time in history that Mexico has reached the finals in the Olympic soccer games. Los residentes y visitantes en Sayulita han disfrutado bonitos puestos del sol esta semana y aunque el surf no es tan bueno, hay condiciones perfectas para nadar o padelear en la bahia. Las buenas noticias para los surfos es que se esperan mas olas para este fin de semana.
Se pueden ver las olimpiadas en varios locales en el pueblo y los fanaticos de futbol pueden ver el partido emocionante manana cuando Mexico juega contra Brazil en los finales para ganar la medalla oro. Es la primera vez que Mexico ha llegado a los finales en los juegos de futbol de las olimpiadas.

 I surf and I skate. I've surfed for 5 or 6 months, but I've been skating for 8 months. I skate more because I don't have the money to rent a surf board. I have a skate board. I like both, but I like something I can do in the moment. If I have my skateboard with me, I can skate whenever I want.

Early this summer the Sayulita community suffered several deadly car accidents that left everyone in shock. The survivors required intensive emergency medical care and a call went out here in Mexico, Canada and the States for donations of medical services and of course money. The response was incredible both in speed and the amount of the donations. One thing that was learned is that if you do not have money, social security or other insurance, medical aid is limited and or delayed. More

 While my husband, David, and I were in Sayulita recently, we decided to take a leisurely walk toward the south end of town. A few minutes into our walk, David noticed an old worn piece of wood attached to a handrail leading to the beach. On it, someone has written... "For one minute, stand here in silence and look at the sky and contemplate how awesome life is." I don't know who wrote it or how long it's been there, but the why is obviously to remind us to stop and enjoy the little things along this path called life... and what better place to do that, than right here in Sayulita. Mientras mi marido, David y yo est�bamos en Sayulita recientemente, decidimos dar un paseo hacia el extremo sur del pueblo. Al caminar por la largura de la play, David not� una vieja pieza desgastada de madera atada a un pasamanos que conduce a la playa. En ella, alguien ha escrito ... "Por un minuto, aqu� en silencio y mira al cielo y contempla qu incre�ble sea la vida." No s� qui�n lo escribi� ni por cu�nto tiempo est� ah�, pero el por qu� es, obviamente, que nos recuerdan que debemos parar y disfrutar de las peque�as cosas a lo largo de este camino llamado la vida ... y qu� mejor lugar para apreciarla, que aqu� en Sayulita.
