This past week showcased several holidays including Labor Day, to celebrate all workers and laborers and Kids Day, a fun way to celebrate children of all ages. The town delegate, Hector Peña  and volunteers helped organize a special Kids Day event in the plaza on Monday, April 30th. There were games, prizes, a raffle for 5 bicycles, clowns, face painting and a large inflatable play area for the kids of Sayulita. The new town delegation is planning to make this a fun annual event for families of Sayulita. The smiles on the children's faces were evident of the good time had by all.

Cinco de Mayo will be celebrated this weekend as Mexico remembers the battle of Puebla against the French. Though an important holiday, curiously not many celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Mexico quite like in the United States. Read the question of the week below to see how some locals and visitors will be celebrating this weekend. Janice Parker, a Vancouver resident who has visited Sayulita two seasons in-a-row, has decided to take on a project to give back to the community of Sayulita. Janice, a pet owner herself of a silky terrier named Duke, has become involved with helping the animals of Sayulita and will create a publication next season that will feature touching adoption stories. The title of the book is set to be "The Dogs and Puppies of Sayulita: A Love Story".  More

If Live Theater Sayulita (LTS) can measure its success by the number of lunches that will be served to children at the Primaria, then the company had a very successful year indeed. Thanks to the support of this community, the total amount raised was more than $22,000 pesos, or about $1,700 USD.   More
