Greetings to our 7,490 subscribers,  The current construction and remodelling of Sayulita's downtown plaza and streets is in full swing and the work is progressing rapidly. Residents and visitors alike are making the most out of Sayulita's current state while heavy machinery, industrial drills and rollers disperse throughout the downtown area. Many of the local businesses have remained open including restaurants, shops, boutiques and food stands, adapting to the dirt roads, ruble and debris. Construction is expected to culminate by mid March, just in time for "Semana Santa" and spring break vacation goers. See some additional photos below. The Sayulita Farmer's Market, steps away from the full-on construction of downtown, offers organic and homemade foods, cooking products, snacks and much more and this Friday, the second edition of Sayulita Magazine is released and will be available to the public (see below), so please stop by the Sayulita Farmer's Market to pick up your copy of this quality, full color magazine. La construccion y remodelacion actual del centro de Sayulita esta en plena marcha esta semana y el trabajo esta progresando rapido. Residentes y visitantes estan aprovechando la situaci�n como puedan mientras hay maquinaria, taladros y apisonadoras industriales por todo el pueblo. Muchos de los negocios locales incluyendo restaurantes, tiendas y boutiques siguen abiertos y adaptan a las calles de tierra y los escombros que estan por todos lados. Se espera que la construcci�n se termine para Semana Santa y justo a tiempo para los vacacioncitas de primavera. Ver m�s fotos abajo. El mercado del pueblo, a pasos de la construcci�n del centro esta abierto hoy y hay mucho que encontrar como comida org�nica, botanas y productos y este viernes se publica la revista Sayulita. New Town Delegate Office - Helping By Design

Grupo Pro Sayulita volunteer Tuck (a.k.a. Juanita in Sayulita), who happens to have an interior design background, has once again come to the aid of the town in helping to furnish the Delegado's new offices. For several years, GPS volunteers have been suggesting that some sort of office where residents could talk to town officials be set up. With the recent election of Hector Pi�a as the town's Delegado, this dream is becoming a realty. Hector has secured several rooms at the camp compound on Calle Miramar near Revoluci�n to be used for town purposes. More

GPS: My Mom Has Fun

Allow me to brag for a minute about my Mom, who happens to be 98.5 years old. Every year she comes to visit us in Sayulita for about a month, and as all hosts know, we have to work to keep our guests entertained. In her case, she likes to do things up in the air. At 90, she went skydiving-- that's jumping out of an airplane (in tandem) in a parachute. She's para-sailed, hang-glided, and at age 93, she even did the Canopy Zip-line here in Sayulita. Pet of the Week: "Lita"

Lita is a very sweet girl. She hails from the beach, and is looking for her forever home. Lita has beautiful coloring, is quiet, doesn't mind a good snuggle, but is happy to provide a warning bark to anyone who might not be welcome. She gets along with other dogs, but has been seen chasing the odd cat around. Given some love and food, she's very loyal and will follow you anywhere. Lita has been spayed. Whoever brings Lita into their heart, and home, will be very lucky.

Sayulita's downtown construction project to improve the roads, sidewalks, and town plaza is underway. Here are some photos of the progress for our readers who are not currently in Sayulita. Despite the few obstacles, most businesses are still open serving customers in Sayulita. Workers are hustling as the governor of Nayarit has declared that work should be completed by March 2012.
