On Tuesday, September 27th, at approximately 7:00 PM, Sayulita suffered a great loss after the sudden death of local residents Irma Violeta Colmenares, 41 and her four-year-old daughter, Nahomi Violeta Colmenares. Irma and her daughter Nahomi were heading to their weekly Zumba class when they were hit by a Compostela bus. Dr. Moy Cuevas was called to the scene; however, both Irma and Nahomi had passed away on or shortly after impact. Onlookers and witnesses say the bus driver was speeding as he came around the corner, making a wide left turn on the north side of the traffic bridge on Calle Revolucion.  More

Violeta Colmenares y su pequena hija Nahomi Violeta Colmenares de tan solo 4 anitos aproximadamente a las 7:00 pm cuando iban caminando hacia las clases de Zumba que Violeta tomaba todas las tardes en el Salon las Gardenias, un autobus de Transportes del Pacifico, la imprudencia al volante y el exceso de velocidad, les cobraron la vida. Dr. Moy Cuevas fue llamado a la escena pero Irma y su hija ya habian fallecidos al impacto.  Mas

On Wednesday, October 5th, the sea turtle hatchery, located at Casa del Mar on the north end of Sayulita's main beach, released approximately 280 baby sea turtles from four different nests which have been incubating over the last 50 days. During the summer season, local volunteers have been scouting the beaches at night for nests. During the early hours of the morning they return for the eggs left behind by the mature female sea turtles, which come onto shore, more frequently so during the warm season and lay their eggs, before returning to sea.  More 

El mi�rcoles, 5 de octubre, el vivero de tortugas marinas ubicado en Casa del Mar en el lado norte de Sayulita solt� aproximadamente 280 tortuguitas de cuatro diferentes nidos que han estado incub�ndose durante los �ltimos 50 d�as. Durante el verano voluntarios locales han estado buscando los nidos de huevos por la playa durante las noches y las madrugadas juntando los huevos dejados por la madura tortuga hembra que llega a las orillas a dejar sus huevos durante las noches, mas seguido en la temporada de calor.  Mas
