Greetings 7,115 El Sayulero Subscribers,
 For the last couple of weeks Sayulita residents have been hoping for some rain to cool things down. Unlike last year, during the extremely heavy rains of September that caused flooding, Sayulita has experienced a relatively dry month. Last night the dry spell broke, as a storm passed through seasonal rains poured down and the crackling thunder was unlike any storm so far this year. Sayulita locals and residents are hoping the relentless heat soon breaks as the town prepares for the upcoming season. Last Friday, September 16th, Sayulita, along with the entire country, celebrated Mexico's Independence Day. Patriotism was evident all over town as young and old came out to participate in the games and festivities in the plaza, and the colors of the Mexican flad - red, green and white - were evident everywhere. The celebrations of Independence day kicked off with a parade through the center of town, followed by parties, games and music, which lasted throughout the night. Saludos a los 7,115 lectores de El Sayulero,
Residentes de Sayulita han estado esperando un poco de lluvia durante las �ltimas dos semanas para refrescar todo. A diferencia del a�o pasado, durante la lluvias torrenciales de septiembre, que causaron inundaciones, Sayulita se ha experimentado un mes relativamente seco. Ayer por la noche, llego la lluvia, con una tormenta las lluvias ca�an y el trueno chisporroteo se diferencia de cualquier tormenta que va del a�o. Sayulita locales y los residentes esperan que el implacable calor rompe pronto como la ciudad se prepara para la pr�xima temporada.
El pasado viernes, 16 de septiembre, Sayulita, junto con todo el pa�s, celebraron el D�a de la Independencia de M�xico. El patriotismo era evidente en toda la ciudad, como j�venes y ancianos salieron a participar son algunos de los juegos y fiestas en la plaza y los colores de la Flad M�xico - rojo, verde y negro - eran evidentes en todas partes. Las celebraciones del D�a de la Independencia se inici� con un desfile por el centro de la ciudad, seguido por los partidos, juegos y m�sica, que se prolong� durante toda la noche.  Sayulita Magazine welcomes Maria Zache as the Editor of its next issue, due to hit the streets in December, just in time for the Holiday season. Maria and her husband Jim have owned a home in Sayulita since 2005 and have become well-known members of Sayulita's community groups. Upon arrival, Maria did not take long to start to find her place in Sayulita, volunteering with Grupo Pro Sayulita's Recycling and (SayulitAnimals) Spay and Neuter programs, as well as helping to orchestrate the annual fundraiser, Fiesta, for GPS. hit the streets in December. We have a few openings for writers and artists who wish to contribute to this super-awesome publication, of which the whole Sayulita community can be proud.

Independence Day Celebrations in Sayulita

Punta Sayulita Coastal Clean-Up

 Last Saturday we celebrated in Sayulita the Ocean Conservancy�s 26th International Coastal Clean-up organized by Punta Sayulita. This is the second consecutive year that Punta Sayulita partnered with the Ocean Conservancy. The results obtained from the collection of materials by the volunteers during last Saturday's beach cleanup in Sayulita will be sent to the Ocean Conservancy organization for its annual report. According to the Ocean Conservancy, during the past 25 years of organizing the International Coastal Clean-up worldwide, 615,400 volunteers in over 110 countries at 5,400 locations have participated in the International Coastal Clean-up. Pet of The Week: "Vaquita"
|  Vaquita, as we are affectionately calling her, was tied to our door for over seven hours with no food or water, on a Sunday when we were closed. Nicki happened to see her when returning home late that night and brought her in. She is the most playful, energetic, adoring dog. She is high energy and gets bored quickly. She needs a very active owner and would be best with someone who does not have children or other dogs. She is very demanding for attention, food, and toys, and at times this makes her tempermental. With love and attention, this behavior will diminish. She is too affectionate to stay defensive for long! Help us find a perfect home for this beauty. Vaquita, ya que estamos cari�osamente la llamaba, fue atado a la puerta durante m�s de siete horas sin comida ni agua, en un domingo, cuando se cerraron. Nicki le pas� a ella ver al volver a casa tarde esa noche y la trajo pulg Ella es el m�s juguet�n, perro en�rgico, adorando. Ella es de alta energ�a y se aburre r�pidamente. Ella necesita un due�o muy activo y que ser�a mejor estar con alguien que no tiene hijos u otros perros. Usually I have to prod and poke people to get them to be in photos for me so I jumped at the chance. Who knew a bunch of guys could come up with some fun props and poses for a little photo shoot? Normalmente tengo que persuadir a la gente que deje que les tome fotos asi que aproveche de esta oportunidad. Quien hubiera pensado que tantos chicos pudieron utilizar tantos accesorios y hacer poses para una sesion de fotos? Aqui estan, los mejores surfos del paddle.
