Preparations for the new traffic bridge have been underway since mid-October, there was bustling activity up until last week, then the work site was deserted last Friday. There is no information from an official spokesperson, however I was able to glean the following information. The operation has been fraught with delays. The original remnants of the bridge were removed and the river slightly redirected to form an S-curve with rock buildup to form a ridge in the river - or mini-rapid to some. 20 meter wire pilings were constructed, intended to be placed on end and then encased in concrete to withstand any future punishing storms and rising flood waters. Los preparativos para el nueve puente de tráfico se han estado realizando desde mediados de octubre, y ha habido mucha actividad bulliciosa hasta la semana pasada, sin embargo, el lugar de trabajo ha sido abandonada desde el pasado viernes. The festive season has certainly started with a bang as Virgin of Guadalupe celebrations are well under way. Christmas is not far off and many people will be coming to visit over the holidays. We start to think of the giving that makes our hearts glad. Many of you were very generous to those in Sayulita who needed your help during the floods. Perhaps there is room in a suitcase for one more small gift. Perhaps those already in town will be able to wrap a small gift for a girl or boy who will be overjoyed to receive your bounty.  More >

La temporada festiva sin duda ha comenzado con una explosión como la Virgen de Guadalupe celebraciones están muy avanzadas. Navidad no es la gente a lo lejos y muchos vendrán a visitar durante las vacaciones. Empezamos a pensar en la entrega que hace que nuestros corazones contentos. Muchos de ustedes fueron muy generosos con los de Sayulita que necesitaban su ayuda durante las inundaciones. Tal vez haya espacio en una maleta para un regalo más pequeños. Ariel Sainz, one of the most active interdisciplinary artists in the area, will be exhibiting his new collection of paintings, "Ratros de una Génesis" . Ariel Sainz is a recipient of the 2010 Arts Grant from the FECAN (Fondo Estatal para la Cultura y las Artes de Nayarit) which awards artists of various disciplines who have accomplished extensive body of work and exhibitions. Ariel, the only painter to receive an award this year, is also the first-ever resident within the local area to have received this prestigious state-wide recognition.
