Greetings 5,927 El Sayulero Readers,
The town and beach are looking great thanks to the efforts of those helping to clean up the debris on the beach during the Punta Sayulita beach cleanups, and the continued efforts of Sayulimpia who have made several trips around the neighborhoods in Sayulita to clean up garbage and junk from the floods. So far Sayulimpia has made 12 runs, removing about 36 tons of waterlogged debris including old mattresses, tires, rotten furniture, logs, etc..
It appears this season will be busy with weddings. The October issue of "Destination Weddings" has a 2 page spread of a wedding by "Kerry Moeller Weddings" in Sayulita. To read the article click here.
Sayulita has lost a seasonal visitor recently, Carol Rupert passed away on September 23 peacefully at her Ranch and she will be missed by her husband Tom and everyone in Sayulita who knew Carol. A fund has been set up to help Tom and his family during this time. Please visit the "Friends of Carol" fund for more information.

Por fin podemos sentir la diferencia en temperaturas en Sayulita. Por las mañanas y noches el aire esta mas fresco, hay mas viento y el sol no se siente tan caliente comparado a los meses pasados. Los ceros y la valles están muy verdes y parece que la mayoría de las lluvias fuertes ya están en el pasado. El pueblo y la playa se ven bonitos gracias a las esfuerzas de los que ayudaron a limpiar los escombros en la playa durante la limpieza de Punta Sayulita y los esfuerzos continuos de Sayulimpia que ha ido por los vecindarios del pueblo para recoger basura y escombros dejados por la inundación. Hasta la fecha, Sayulimpia ha hecho 12 viajes transportando aproximadamente 36 toneladas de basura, muebles viejos, troncos de madera, chatarra, y llantas viejas. Parece que esta temporada va a ser una buena para las bodas. Sayulita Loses a Friend to Many

 Carol Jean Rupert died peacefully on September 23rd at 11:04 pm surrounded by her family. She was 59 years old. It rained hard through the night at the Rupert Ranch, and as loved ones awoke this morning to the news of Carol's passing, they noticed that the high peaks just west of the ranch had received their first dusting of snow. As everyone huddled chilled around Al's stove, clutching coffee cups, together it was agreed that Carol clearly chose to move along before the next snows arrived.
PER RON: Oh Carol! California Girl, Mountain Momma, Ranch Wrangler, Global Traveler, Sayulita Sister, Cowgirl Surfer, Buoy Babe - we will miss you! Be at peace, dear friend, be at peace.

Radio Station Planned For Sayulita

Pajaro de Fuego Inaugurates Villa Rentals

As the high season in Sayulita approaches, many new villas and rental units are preparing for the influx of tourists and visitors from all over the world. The newcomers and returning visitors will be arriving in Sayulita to enjoy the excellent surf, a charming village and the unique small-town attractions. Sayulita's most luxurious development project, "Pajaro de Fuego," is located on the north end of Sayulita and is now open for rental accommodations, along with its premium condominium sales. "Pajaro de Fuego" unveiled its model villa in February of this year to potential real estate investors. Now "Pajaro" is raising the bar to offer luxury rental accommodations to Sayulita visitors looking for a hotel-style experience complete with concierge service, high-end amenities and many options of water sport gear. Sayulita Water Plant Treatment
Has Recovered After Season's Flooding

The water treatment plant in Sayulita, located beside the river at the beach, suffered damage after the September 4th-6th flooding. The main water pumps and sewer systems in Sayulita neighborhoods were also affected by the heavy rains and flooding, which caused the pipelines to clog, break and ultimately prevent the supply of clean, drinkable water to residents' homes during the first few days after the flooding. Lázaro Cardenas, the head of the water treatment plant, is happy to confirm this week that the Sayulita water treatment plant is back to normal. More >
La planta de tratamiento de agua en Sayulita, ubicada al borde del río en frente de la playa, sufrió daños después de las tormentas e inundaciones del 4 a 6 de septiembre. Sayulita Fundraiser Held in
Whistler, B.C. Canada

The Garibaldi Lift Co. Bar & Grill located in Whistler, B.C. Canada held a special fundraiser event on Saturday, October 2nd. Andrew Lambrecht who organized the event loves Sayulita, met and married his wife in Sayulita and now wanted to give back to the town by raising money for the flood relief fund. Blurred Borders - Casas de Sayulita

Life seems almost normal again. Having just emerged from the very busiest time at my work at our neighborhood association (community organizing, not what color you are allowed to paint your house), I am able to pick my head up and look around again; time seems to be passing at a more normal rate. We live in a well-established historic district in the northern U.S.; the annual Tour of Homes is the association's largest fundraiser of the year and has been the sole focus of my efforts at work for nearly two months. So much work and so much fun and positive energy all at the same time. More >
