Special times deserve special attention.  Hence, a special El Sayulero edition (two weeks in a row!) updating our readers on the amazing rebound our village has accomplished in less than 10 days since the heavy rains and floodwaters came to town.
 
Sayulita experienced a serious natural disaster last week, but it also saw what an amazing community could do when it works together to help friends and neighbors in need. We are all aware of Sayulita's magic and that magic was very evident with so many visitors and residents stepping up to help out and quickly get Sayulita up and running again as beautiful as ever.
 
I am not personally in Sayulita right now but the outpouring of emails and phone calls to Kerry and I (plus posts on the forum) inspired us to ask our writers to create updates for the ElSayulero.com website.  Additionally, I created a new column on the site that includes random flood emails/updates and pictures (thanks Donna).
 
We would like to thank all of the volunteers in Sayulita that quickly came to the aid of those in need, and we would like to thank all of those that were not in Sayulita that also helped as they could through support and monetary donations. 
 
This special addition El Sayulero has been created to say "thank you" to everyone and also to let people know that while parts of Sayulita did experience heavy flooding, (there is still work to be done and people to help) the community of Sayulita is stronger and more beautiful than ever before.   After another couple weeks of cleaning and rebuilding efforts, upcoming 2010-2011 visitors to the town will never realize the extent of what Mother Nature had in store for us.
 
Final quote emailed to me yesterday:  "Ian, I have never seen the Sayulita beach this clean and guess what, the beach is about 3X the size as it used to be and the new point looks like we are going to have even better waves this year!"

Además, he creado una nueva columna en el sitio que incluye correos electrónicos al azar de inundación / actualizaciones y fotos (gracias Donna).

Después de otro par de semanas de limpieza y los esfuerzos de reconstrucción, las próximas 2010-2011 visitantes a la ciudad nunca se dará cuenta de la magnitud de lo que la Madre Naturaleza había en el almacén para nosotros.
