Greetings 5,395 El Sayulero Readers,
If the last three days of Sayulita weather are any
indication of what we can expect for the rest of the summer, we are about to
have the best low season climate this village has experienced in at least a
decade. Cooling breezes, mild
temperatures, slight rain at night, and perfect beach strolling weather. Sayulita received some great press last week with pictures
and text in Vallarta Lifestyles magazine showing off our local Farmer's
Market as well as an Edmonton Journal article documenting a typical day in the life of a Sayulita
vistor. Many of our notable
residents and businesses are mentioned within. One of our readers sent me this Bloomberg article documenting the profits USA and European banks have been reaping
from the USA/Mexico drug trade. I
found it interesting to say the least. Our issue this (bi) week brings an interview with a local
mother who is quite popular with locals and foreigners alike. I have known
Belinda for many years and still found the interview to be revealing. As always, I thank our wonderful team of volunteer writes

Si estos tres últimos
días de este clima es una indicación de que podemos esperar para el verano,
vamos a tener la mejor temporada baja que este pueblo ha visto. Viento que te

caminar en la playa. Sayulita salio en
la prensa la semana pasada con texto y fotos en Vallarta Lifestyles estacando
el mercado local y también en Edmonton Journal documentando un día típico en la
vida de un visitante a Sayulita. Mencionan muchos de nuestros residentes y
negocios en el articulo. Uno de nuestros
lectores me mando el artículo de Bloomberg documentando los ingresos que los
bancos estadounidenses y europeos han estado recibiendo del intercambio de
drogas en Estados Unidos y México. Lo encontré muy interesante. Nuestra edición
bisemanal nos invita a leer un poco sobre una mama local que es muy popular
entre los locales y extranjeros. He conocido a Belinda por muchos anos y encontré
que la entrevista revela mas sobre ella. Como siempre,

Sayulita Exports Talent

This week it was announced that the talented youth
soccer player Alexis Gallegos Guerrero, alias "little panther," was
signed by the basic level of the club Chivas de Guadalajara and has
signed a sponsorship with Nike. Alexis, who is 14, is now training with
the team, passing the physical exams that he has been subjected to.
His former coach and trainer Martin Flores told me about the great
exhilaration and pride he feels toward his ward who is now part of an
institution of soccer with so much tradition and love from the Mexican

will be returning to offer free spays and neuters July 10th, 11th, and

With the heat climbing up, our house has been keeping cool with
refreshing homemade Aguas Frescas. A traditional Mexican drink made
from fresh fruits, grains, or flowers and fresh water, Aguas Frescas
can be a healthy alternative to sugary sodas and juices - if you make
your own and limit the amount of sugar. For those of you reading from

Grupo Pro Sayulita Has Grown!

Fiesta fundrasier. But we never knew who they were, nor could we use
these folks as references for grant applications. This year, we
initated a supporting member program and we have over 135 individual

A Horror Story in the Jungle

A digested seed dropped innocently from a bird or a bat, germinates in
the moist branches of the top layer of the forest canopy. The plant's
roots begin their snaky crawl downwards towards the forest floor,
enveloping the host tree within its serpentine grasp. The roots grow
larger, constricting and crushing the bark of the host tree, preventing
vital functions of its growth, slowly tightening the death grip.
Eventually the host tree is completely suffocated, dying and leaving

Rafi is a calm, sweet female maltese mix who wants a tranquil home with
responsible owners who will give her the regular grooming her breed
requires. For a year, she has lived with a young family who has
decided her maintenance is too cumbersome for their lives. She is

Where you were born and how old are you? I was born in Las Barras, Nayarit and grew up here in Sayulita. I am 33 years old.
¿Dónde naciste y cuántos años tienes? Nací en Las Barras, Nayarit y me crecí aquí en Sayulita. Tengo 33 años.
Family history? My grandparents arrived here in
Sayulita to live and my mother was born in Sayulita. My father came to
live here and met my mother and then they were married. I have 3
sisters and 3 brothers. I am the youngest in the family. I live with my
husband Luis Alvaro Diaz and we have twin girls who are 3 years old
named Karol and Cielo.

papá llegó a vivir aquí y conoció a mi mamá y luego se casaron. Tengo 3
