Greetings 5,234 El Sayulero Readers,
Did he help with the rent?  | May is here and it is definitely one of my favorite months
of the year. The weather is not too
hot yet, the ocean is the perfect temperature for swimming, the crowds have
diminished, and as a bonus the jungles are especially green this May due to all
the winter rain. Additionally,
the "working" residents of Sayulita can be seen lounging around town or on the
beach now and again since we all have a little more time to relax. Enjoy it!
Last week, Sayulero reader submitted a Letter to the Editor containing
only the text "A recent visitor to the Sayulita Beach House" and the above picture. Since it was
the only Letter to the Editor we received last week, it made the final cut.

Saludos a los 5,234 lectores de El Sayulero.
Ya llego el mes de mayo y sin duda es uno de mis meses favoritos. No hace tanto calor todavia, la tempuratura del agua en el mar es perfecta para nadar, no hay tanta gente y como un bono, la selva se ve muy verde por esta epoca debido a todas las lluvias durante este invierno. Ademas, los residentes trabajadores de Sayulita se han visto relajando en las playas y por las calles ahora que todos tenemos mas tiempo para relajarnos un poco. Que todos lo disfruten!
La semana pasada un lector de El Sayulero envio un mensaje al editor con el texto "Un visitante a la casa de playa en Sayulita" con la foto arriba. Fue la unica carta al editor que recibimos esta semana.

 Sayulitanimals
is not a shelter. Somewhere along our journey, Sayulitanimals has
become associated with the idea of a shelter. We have never been a
shelter, nor have we ever had the facilities to act as a shelter. We
cannot and do not take in homeless, unwanted, abandoned or injured
animals for overnight or long-term care. More->

nuestro viaje, Sayulitanimals se ha asociado con la idea de un refugio.
Nunca hemos sido un refugio, ni hemos tenido las facilidades para

 Grupo Pro Sayulita is made of all volunteers. I couldn't be serving as
president without a dedicated group of people who care. Who are
they? I know I'll get into trouble because there are many more than I
can include, but let me just mention a few who have worked for a least
two seasons, and to demonstrate what's been going on in the GPS for the
past season. (And in no particular order.)

 Reduce / Reuse / Recycle... a powerful mantra that has become quite
commonplace in society's attempt to lessen its negative impact on the
planet. I have long been a "believer," faithfully saving plastics,
glass, paper and other recyclables to be deposited into the appropriate
receptacles to then be reincarnated as other objects such as
newspapers, videotapes and maybe the soles of my shoes.

 Now that I've been a surf "instructor" for a couple of months, I've
come to understand that you can't really teach people to surf. The only
way to learn how to surf is to spend a lot of time at it. I've watched
and listened to the teachers here in town on the beach, and I've
watched and listened to the teachers on the other beaches, on the
Anclote boats and in the waves. I've seen what they do and I'm here to
tell you that lessons help - particularly for people who are unfamiliar

I'm usually drawn to taking pictures of people--or dogs. But I decided
to take a walk around town and photograph some of the plants in
Sayulita that never cease to amaze me with their beauty, shapes and
colors. See more photos. |
 This cute, little guy was found all alone in the Plaza in
Sayulita desperately looking for someone to save him. He's a happy
little fellow currently in treatment for mange, a skin disease
caused from malnutrition, stress and neglect. Within a month it can be
cured with the right medicine, good food and special baths. Is there
anyone that can help with the treatment and/or adoption of "Gordito?"
He is, apart from the skin condition, a healthy, happy, around 2 month
old male puppy.
 Este lindo, pequeñito se encontró solo en la plaza de Sayulita desesperadamente buscando a alguien para salvarlo. Es
un perrito feliz que esta actualmente en tratamiento contra la sarna, una
enfermedad de la piel causada por la desnutrición, el estrés y el
abandono. Dentro de un mes se puede curar con la medicina adecuada, buena comida y baños especiales. ¿Hay alguien que puede ayudar con el tratamiento y / o la adopción de "Gordito? Aparte de la condición de la piel, El es un perrito macho saludable y feliz que tiene aproximadamente 2 meses de edad.
