Greetings 5,427 El Sayulero Readers,
As our readership continues to grow, so does our list of
contributors. I would like to
extend a warm welcome to Maria Zache who will be contributing weekly recipes
utilizing ingredients that can be found in the local Sayulita area.
For those of you in Sayulita right now, make sure to head
down to the beach to check out the size of the waves and the havoc they have
created for the restaurant and storefronts along the beach. According to the weather forecasts, Mother Nature has quite
a bit more lined up for us during this next week.
This week brings us a wide variety of stories for the
Sayulita area including an updated Corett story as requested by our
readers. Our newspaper is alive
and thriving thanks to all of its contributors. I even had a local reader exclaim to me that he enjoyed
reading El Sayulero over USA Today.

Why the Ejido Office is Closed

 It is almost painful to watch the scene at our Ejido. The Ejido
facilities were taken over as a consequence of an urgent assembly
summoned on August 29th, 2009. In this assembly the ejidatarios
discussed the acts of legality by the current ejidal board, whose
President is Emelesio Solis Virgen. More->

instalaciones del Ejido, fueron tomadas como consecuencia de la
asamblea urgente convocada el 29 de agosto del año pasado. En la que se
discutieron los actos de legalidad de la presente mesa ejidal, que

Regularize Local Properties It's a new year and a new chance for the dozens of residents who own
Ejidal properties in Sayulita to regularize or gain title rights.

Sayulita - 100% Familiar
 I'm
really loving my family town these days. It seems like every corner I
turn I see another baby strapped on a back, toddling through the plaza,
or wheeling around in their stroller. Having a wee one of prime age for
socializing, this makes me very happy. It's the coolest thing to plop
my kid down in the plaza and watch him run around playing, sharing, and
interacting with other kids of all ages. The only thing cooler is
taking it in with my visiting dad, as he chats up the other parents and
grandparents watching over their own little charges.

SayulitAnimals Pet of the Week
"Sasito"
 Sasito is a medium sized, 1.5 years old, male, Sayulita beach mutt. He has been neutered, and is currently with a foster family that can no longer care for him. He walks well on leash, is house trained, knows basic commands, and is fiercely loyal. Because of a rough start to life, Sasito is extremely territorial and protective of his home/owners/pack. He currently lives with 5 other dogs and is extremely well behaved with all of them. However, he is very aggressive towards other dogs trying to enter his pack, and has shown aggresion towards certain people on occasion. He is very gentle and loving with his foster family, and over-protective of them at the same time.
Sasito will make a loyal and loving companion for a single person, or couple, that understands his issues and is ready to work on balancing his temperment. He would also make a great security dog for a home or a ranch. He would do best in a home with no children. Other dogs he will be ok with once he is welcomed into the pack.
Please help us save this special boy. With time, patience, and proper training, Sasito will be your best friend forever.

 For the time being Sayulita is without a priest but a new priest
is expected to arrive this coming week to replace Father Mario Gonzalez
Diaz who has been the priest in Sayulita for the last two and a half
years. Father Mario Gonzalez Diaz has left Sayulita for health reasons
and has moved to Jaramillo, Jalisco. more->

I always try to have my camera with me, even when I go out to eat--you
never know when you'll see something interesting. When Eddie
at Sayulita Fish Taco came up the stairs with this huge tray of plates
surrounded by bright yellow walls, he was a vision to behold.
Yo siempre trato de tener mi cámara conmigo, incluso cuando salgo a

First time in Sayulita? The
first time I arrived in Sayulita was 5 years ago in February 2005. My
cousin, Armando brought me to Sayulita where I first decided set up a
stand in the flea market. I loved Sayulita and the people here so much
that I stayed here in town.
Primera vez en Sayulita? La
primera vez que llegue a Sayulita fue hace 5 anos en Febrero de 2005.
Mi primo, Armando me trajo a Sayulita y puse un puesto en el tianguis.
Me gusto tanto Sayulita y su gente que me quede aquí en el pueblo.
Family History and Information? I
was born in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco. My father has passed away and my
mother still lives there; however she is very sick and I go home to
visit her as often as I can. I come from a large family of 10
children. Four of my brothers and sisters still live in Tlaquepaque. I
have 2 brothers and 1 sister living in Los Angeles, a sister living in
San Luis Potosi and a brother living in Puerto Vallarta.
¿Historia de la familia? Naci
en Tlaquepaque, Jalisco. Mi padre fallecio pero mi madre todavía vive
ahí pero esta muy enferma ahora y voy cada que puedo a visitarla. Vengo
de una familia muy grande de 10 hijos. 4 de mis hermanos viven todavía
en Tlaquepaque. Tengo 2 hermanos y 1 hermana que viven en Los Angeles,
y un hermana que vive en San Luis Potosi y 1 hermano que vive en Puerto
