Greetings!

Brovey New

Welcome to a new year...and the second half of PPGGNY's Program Year!

Last month Jon Tidd enthralled record  audiences at both the seminar and the luncheon. Most people did not know that Jon woke up sick that morning, and his being able to continue was "touch and go." Special kudos to Jon for being a real trooper in the finest spirit of "the show must go on!"  And it did!

This month, Davida Isaacson will delve into the popular topic of marketing. We will also feature something new and different: Tony Martignetti will combine humor with fundraising and help us engage our donors and hopefully raise more money.

Last Fall PPGGNY began offering CLE credits for attorneys attending select programs. To date we have had almost 100 requests for CLE credits, which are offered at no additional charge. We will continue to request both CLE and CFRE credit approval for select programs throughout the spring and (tentatively) at NYPPS 2012. Stay tuned!

I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming meetings and, as always, I welcome your input at any time.

ASK THE PRESIDENT

Q: What is happening with the charitable gift annuity rates?

A: Effective January 1, 2012, the charitable gift annuity rates have changed.  The American Council on Gift Annuities (ACGA) sets suggested maximum gift annuity rates. The Council met in early November, and noting the significant changes in the economic environment, the Board approved a new schedule of suggested rates which became effective January 1, 2012. There is a report available online, free to all ACGA sponsors.  Visit ACGA.

The ACGA has announced that their next Biennial Conference will be April 18-20, 2012, in San Francisco.

JANUARY 18 SEMINAR
Speaker: Davida Isaacson

Planned Gift Marketing and After-Gift Marketing...

Get in the Game to Win

Davida 3

In this Seminar we will discuss creative, cost effective marketing techniques that will get you the gift, keep the gift, and get you more gifts. You will leave with ideas that you can put into action immediately! You will learn how to make your organization the go-to organization for planned gifts.

Davida Isaacson is the President of Davida Isaacson Consulting Inc, your partner for fundraising success. Prior to the formation of her own firm Davida was a Principal and Senior Consultant with Myerberg Shain & Associates. Formerly she served as Executive Director of the Jewish Community Foundation of MetroWest, where she raised $12 million in major and planned gifts in 18 months.

She is perhaps best known as the former Director of Planned and Major Gifts for WNET/New York where she later served as Director of Endowment and Planned Gifts. Among the accomplishments at WNET was the role in the $65 million Campaign For Thirteen, the largest capital campaign ever undertaken by a public television station, approximately $30 million of which came from planned gift initiatives.

In April, 2011 Davida presented a workshop on planned giving for the German Fundraising Congress in Fulda, Germany. Davida has been quoted on relevant fundraising topics in Business Week, Practical Account, Currents, and The Chronicle of Philanthropy. Her philanthropic endeavors extend to her current service on the boards of the Partners in Health Foundation and Jewish Services for the Developmentally Disabled (JSDD). Davida is a PPGGNY President Emeritus.

Light refreshments will be available.
