Tips for Selling in a Down Economy
Selling in a down economy
It's not about more activity or running faster.  Instead, by focusing available resources on the best opportunities,  you have a greater chance to win.

It's more about minimizing risk than reducing price.

Fully engaged  managers are best suited to champion the safety in buying from their company.

Make it easy for top sales reps to camouflage their anxiety about making quota when involved with a potential buyer.

Success stories can be reassuring in situations where risk reduction proofs will calm the buyer.

Use Email Marketing to drive repeat business, referrals, and new prospects.

It's Affordable. It's Effective. It's Immediate. It's Measurable.

Greetings!

The Marketing Imprint is designed to provide concise, relevant and timely information about proven methodologies for marketing, sales and customer support.
Why the High Drop-out Rate? Unfinished Business
Maybe finishing is too hard.
Maybe there are too many distractions
. Maybe people don't like to practice.

I recently enrolled in a Tai chi class. This "soft" form of traditional martial arts applies internal power or "chi" for elasticity and flexibility. Body and breathing work together as a single unit with no wasted effort. Results include improved health, mental calmness and clarity.  At the mid-point, about half of the students have dropped out.  I wonder why?

About the same percentage of my clients do not follow through [to my satisfaction] with the programs that they paid me to develop and model for them. I wonder why. I hope it's not the quality of my work.  I don't think so.  I feel bad when they do not establish a legacy foothold for these plans or programs.

How about sales people?  Why don't they spend more time practicing their craft?  Think about the basketball player who practices 2-3 hours each day. That's 900 minutes per week in order to play two 40-minute games.  Practice considerably raises the likelihood of scoring [and the chances for closing the deal]. Jonson & Johnson is known for taking a long term approach to its business.  I like their "management for the long term" principal. It ensures sustainability by not compromising the long term due to short term thinking.

"The Worst Recession in 75 Years Will "EJECT" those not Practicing Solid Marketing Principles" ...
  1. Those who are prepared for the new world awaiting us at the next upturn will advance at the expense of those who aren't.
  2. Can you provide a Wal-Mart example specific to your business? There is a Walmart type competitor that causes a down economy for every company that relies on low hanging fruit. Walmart helps companies who foster value, community, service and networking.
