Essential for a High Quality Sales Interview
First, understand the prospect's financial, productivity and image needs.
Then, armed with knowledge about the results they want to achieve, you will impress each person who plays a role relative to your category. They will want to spend a few minutes listening to your sound byte.
Now you're ready to schedule the initial peer level sales interview that will enable both sides to qualify the merits of working together. |

What Do You Expect from Your Marketing Manager?
Who is accountable for new and existing market, product, pricing and channel programs, and for CRM tools, the marketing arsenal and campaign execution?
An effective marketing manager integrates well with finance, engineering, production, support, sales and partners. This highly organized, talented, well-rounded, curious and communicative leader applies traits of patience, persistence, perspective and creativity, while appropriately blending strategic vs. tactical, customer vs. product and people vs. task initiatives.
If you're hiring someone who is responsible for only a subset of these accountabilities, don't misname a marketing manager who's really a researcher or a coordinator of trade shows, outside printers, mailings, websites, advertising and other projects.
If you assign a person to the wrong title, you will be disappointed and marketing will develop a bad reputation in your company. Don't be frustrated by a situation that you can control yourself. |
A Non-Commissioned Sales Force?
Click here to read a Hartford Business News article about a company that hires "the right kind of sales person", who earns a small percentage of income from bonuses that are tied to company goals, profitability, costs, etc. and is recognized the same way as any person who does their job well. These customer planning and problem solving team members have low turnover, increase sales and reduce costs. |
