Medicare Part D Creditable Coverage Disclosure Requirements

The disclosure cutoff date has been moved from November 15th to October 15th to coincide with the new Medicare Annual Enrollment Period of October 15th to December 7th.

Greetings!

The Medicare Modernization Act (MMA) mandates that employer group health plan sponsors disclose to Medicare eligible individuals with Rx coverage under the plan whether coverage is "creditable".  A separate electronic disclosure of creditable coverage status must be made by the employer to CMS each year.

Employers must make this disclosure to Medicare Part D eligible individuals no later than October 15.

The employer, not the insurance company, is responsible to provide notice to the Medicare Part D eligible individuals.

Please visit our website for instructions, sample employee notice and link to CMS electronic disclosure webpage.  Please contact us if you have questions or need assistance.

Thank you,
