mQR-7: Mobile QR-codes & tags - 7 years
QR: a simple solution for an important problem   Oct 6, 2009
Greetings!

Problem: How to send mobile phone users to a particular webpage efficiently?

Solution: QR-codes!

QR codes were developed in Japan initially for the management of car parts, the first mobile phone with QR code reader built in was J-Phone's J-SH09 (manufactured by SHARP9 and went on sale in Japan end August 2002. From October 1, 2002, SHARP made software available to create QR codes for the J-SH09 and J-SH52 mobile phones - seven years ago.

Today QR codes are everywhere in Japan, sending mobile phone users efficiently and traceably to mobile webpages!
(In case you wonder: of course there are applications for the i-Phone to read and create QR codes)

QR codes are very useful and highly versatile and sophisticated tools to encode information. They can encode vastly more information than traditional linear bar codes - and they can be found all over Japan.

QR codes can not only send mobile phone users traceably to mobile webpages, they can also encode images, music, and initiate mobile email messages.
