About Allison
I have always held a very strong belief that talented horses can be trained and allowed to perform at the highest level without compromising the well being of the animal, physically or mentally. In this blog we will delve into the process of building performance horses in a sustainable way. As riders and trainers we have a unique opportunity to have an impact on a specific animal. This is both an honor and a responsibility. I hope you will join in the discussion. |
Keeping it Simple
All training, cues and communication with your horse are based on the concept of pressure and release. Whether it is something as simple as walking a circle or as complicated as sliding stops and lead changes, the philosophy is the same. A horse's natural instinct is to resist or to push back into pressure. To read more..

Keeping Busy!
Willfully Guided with Allison Trimble hosted it's fourth successful Buffalo Fun Day. We are excited about the great turn out with new faces. Our lesson horses were ready to go and teach a new group of people.
Jennifer Odle, of Equine-N-Harmony Bodyworks came with her family to experience the buffalo first hand. Jennifer has a passion for horses with her business as a massage therapist and enjoys riding recreationally. Jennifer has always wanted to ride a cutting horse. She was excited about to hear about our Fun Days and be able to experience a ride with our cowhorses. "It was really neat. The horses are well trained and so sweet," Jennifer said. "I was excited I didn't fall off!" We are also excited to have Jennifer working on our horses here at the ranch contributing to our Willfully Guided program. See her, "Introduction to Bodywork: What is Energy" on our blog.

Valarie Richey and Cuttin Tuck N Spin - "GiGi"
Congratulations to Valarie Richey and her purchase of Cuttin Tuck and Spin. They have already demonstrated a strong connection and bright future. Val and GiGi were red hot on the buffalo this past weekend. Val purchased Cuttin in a Stetson last year and was looking for a new project. It is exciting to see Val apply what she has learned from Stetson and excel on a new horse. We look forward to helping Val, Stetson and GiGi meet their goals.
