How good are you at reading signs? Jesus expects his disciples to read the signs of the times accurately!
Jesus warns us that there are consequences for being unprepared.
We will not be prepared to meet the Lord, face to face when he calls us unless we listen to him today. As in Jesus' story of the Ten Virgins (Matt 25:1-13) being caught off-guard.
A note from Simon Brown.
For those who believe that Jesus could come at any time, and not half way through or at the end of THE GREAT TRIBULATION, have nothing to lose.
Why?
Because if pre trib believers are expecting Jesus at any time, then that means pre trib believers are being obedient to what Jesus said, when he said. Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. Matthew 24:42, NIV
And if Jesus does not come as pre tribs believed, then they will still overcome because Jesus said, Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth. Revelation 3:10, NIV
So by being obedient and ready, pre tribbers have nothing to lose, but can only gain from being ready right now. However if we are not pre tribbers but post tribbers, we may fail to do what Jesus said, keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. Don't be one of these people who Jesus warned us about when he said, I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm-neither hot nor cold-I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Revelation 3:15, NIV
But let us ALL be ready not next year, not next month, not next week. BUT NOW.
BE PREPARED AND NOT LEFT BEHIND.
