Grants

Artist in Residence Program - The grant program matches artists and historians with residency hosts from Calgary's diverse character, including sport. It explores the themes of Looking Back, Calgary Now and Looking Forward.

Sport Facility Renewal Project - Provides funding to address facility capital maintenance and/or upgrades to enhance sport opportunities for Calgarians.

Closing date: January 31

Community Grant - Supports initiatives that respond to emerging community issues and evolving priorities. Interested organizations should contact Community Grants staff in January 2012 to discuss their application idea.

Closing date: February 15

KidSport Grant - Provides assistance to children from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs.

Alberta Athlete and Team of the Year Award - Recognizes the significant achievements, performances and contributions of amateur athletes at the national or international level.

The Calgary Awards - The awards program celebrates and recognizes outstanding achievements and contributions made by Calgarians.
Closing date: March 2

ConocoPhillips Youth of Distinction Awards - Recognizes Calgary youth for their achievements and dedication to their community. A new award category this year is sportsmanship.
Closing date: March 5

Recreation Industry Awards of Excellence - The program honours achievement, excellence, creativity and innovation by Alberta's corporate sector in enhancing community well-being and quality of life through recreation and park development.
Closing date: March 19

2012 Alberta Winter Games - The Games celebrate the achievements of youth in sport and culture, providing many of Canada's future elite athletes to experience competition at a provincial level for the first time.
