CANADA SPORTS DAY 

In the week leading up to, and including, September 17, thousands of organizations across Canada will throw open their doors to celebrate sport at the local level, and help build momentum for Sports Day.

Planning an event, festival, open house, try-it day, pep rally or marathon? We want to know. We're looking for Canadians to share the events they have happening in their communities September 10 - 17 as we lead up to Sports Day in Canada. TRUE SPORT COMMUNITY GIVE-BACK CHALLENGE

 

True Sport 

Have you unleashed the power of True Sport in your community this year? If so, you could be featured on CBC leading up to and/or during the 2011 Sports Day in Canada broadcast; AND earn a cash award of $2,500, $5,000 or $7,500 to help your group or sport organization to continue to live the True Sport Principles. Plans for the development of four new recreation facilities in Calgary continue to take shape. Each site will have amenities designed to meet the specific needs of their area. Citizen engagement is a critical part of this process and your input, into what should be included in these facilities, is being sought. Community engagement sessions are being held in both the northwest and the southeast. Please attend and provide your thoughts. Read more.

Board Development Program 

Share your volunteer spirit!

Help not-for-profit organizations

 

Alberta's Board Development Program is seeking volunteers to train as workshop instructors.  Successful applicants receive specialized training in board governance and are expected to conduct 10 workshops with boards of not-for-profit organizations over a period of 2-1/2 years.  Travel expenses are covered.
