Tangipahoa Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau
WelcomeWow!  What an busy couple of months we've had here in Tangipahoa Parish.  The staff has been assisting guests with information regarding festivals, events, and entertaining groups of all sorts. Though the spring festival season has come to a close, we are excited about the upcoming summer line-up which includes conventions, sports events, movie filming, and casual tourists who find their way to our visitor center.

Sincerely,Betty Stewart

USS Ponchatoula
USS Ponchatoula Shipmates
One of the best things about working for Tangi Tourism is all the great people you meet along the way.  In 2003, the USS Ponchatoula Navy Association decided to trace their namesake during their 2003 reunion.  The path led them to Tangipahoa Parish.  A successful event led them back to Hammond for the 2010 bi-annual reunion.  After hearing about our great festivals for all this time, the committee decided to schedule their reunion a month early and within a manageable drive to Ponchatoula just in time for the Strawberry Festival.  A group of 6 attendees quickly expanded to 25 shipmates and family members in attendance for the 2012 festival.  Tangi Tourism was elated with the great turn-out!  The Tourism Bureau, along with Ponchatoula Mayor Zabbia participated in a group dinner, presentation to the City, and arranged special seating for the parade.

American Idol
Joshua Ledet, Lindsey Cardinale, Phillip Phillips, Colton Dixon
The longing for Louisiana delicacies led Tangi Tourism Representative, Carla Tate, and former American Idol candidate,Lindsey Cardinale, to the bright lights of Los Angeles recently. LA contestant, Joshua Ledet, has reached the top 4 and has put the small town of Westlake and all of Louisiana center stage. During an earlier episode, Joshua mentioned how he missed scrumptious food from his home state. Louisiana Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne immediately responded with a crawfish feast held in "the other LA". Tangi Tourism topped off the treats with a decadent dessert of chocolate dipped strawberry for the cast and crew to enjoy.
