Who's been in town?
 | Tech Scout for Scent of the Missing |
You may have noticed there have been a number of film industry professionals roaming the streets of the parish. Perhaps you have found a note on your door requesting permission to photograph your home or business. These instances are becoming quite common for Tangi. The entire state is seeing a huge influx of filming due to the film credits reinstated by the Legislature. While Baton Rouge and New Orleans are well-established regions for filming, Tangipahoa and the entire Northshore are quickly gaining popularity.
We are excited to be a part of this new economic engine which is booming for Louisiana. Tangi Tourism makes every effort to provide Location Scouts, Producers, Directors, and the like with updated information to ease the process. We also serve as the liaison for the community. Production companies are familiar with Tourist/Film Commissions and value the resources provided by them. One of which is a source of credibility. If you are approached by a film industry representative, please call our office so we may verify the film is taking proper procedures. Overall, the process can be smooth and fulfilling for all parties if handled appropriately.
Currently in town, is a television pilot called "The Scent of the Missing" which is being filmed entirely in Tangipahoa Parish. We will anxiously wait to see if it is picked up by CBS once it premiers during the summer of 2012. Be on the look-out for press releases announcing the air date next year.
