Calistoga Teen Center
Get ready to ride...Tuesdays at the Calistoga Teen Center is Bike Club day. The Bike Club gives Members the chance to ride on a variety of Calistoga bike paths and trails, or just a chance to repair and spruce up their non-motorized ride.
Staff member and professional cyclist, Jason King plans Bike Club Tuesday according to who shows up. For those new to riding he'll choose a mellow path that follows the outskirts of the Calistoga City limits. For others who like to ride a bit more off road, he'll head up the Oak Hill Mine Trail for a few miles. Most of these rides however end in the same way, stopping at a local eatery for treats and snacks. As Jason and Teen Center Members are becoming familiar faces to the managers and owners of the local restaurants, complimentary goodies have been showing up on a regular basis much to the delight of hungry and tired riders. Bike riders, Jason and the Teen Center greatly appreciate the generosity and support of these thoughtful businesses.

Members and parents who come into our St. Helena and Calistoga Clubs are familiar with many of the names and faces of the Staff Members who guide, teach, care for and engage with the Club's Youth. I'd like to take a moment to introduce you to a couple of staff members who are not highly visible but whose presence helps the Clubs stay on solid footing and keep us moving into the future. They both work "behind the scenes" in their offices in our St. Helena facility.
Trent Yaconelli, Director of Operations has been with the Clubs since 1997. He started as the St. Helena Club Manager, and as the programs grew was asked to fill the newly created Director position. Trent played an important role in the design of the St. Helena Clubhouse and in the creation of the Calistoga Boys & Girls Club. He understands the importance of taking the long view while tending to the day to day needs. Trent's daily schedule includes communication with both the St. Helena and Calistoga School Administrators and facilities; working with Napa County Office of Education to ensure program quality; and making sure that the Staff are well supported to give their best game.
If that's not enough, Trent also works with several Board Committees and commits time to organizing special fundraising events. Trent, and his wife Ondrejka, have two sons; Wilder (8) and Easton (5).
Renee Sweezey, Resource Development and Marketing Director, began her career with the Boys & Girls Club in May 2011. Jumping right in, Renee, along with Board Members, produced the first annual Youth of the Year Award Ceremony and Fundraising breakfast. Next she organized and created materials for the Clubs' Business and Individual Support Campaigns.
Renee also took over the production of the monthly newsletter, keeps the local media abreast of the Clubs' current events, and works with the Board of Directors on future fundraising events. Renee recently adopted a new rescue puppy...ZaZi.
I encourage you to stop by and introduce yourself to Trent and Renee. They enjoy meeting those in the communities they serve. The Clubs could not operate without their dedication and commitment.
You can check out their pictures on the Club's website..."About Us" Tab, then "Meet Our Staff".
