The IRTBA is pleased to hear Governor Pat Quinn's announcement appointing Ann L. Schneider as IDOT Secretary.  Schneider has brought a broad knowledge of IDOT and its relationships with its industry partners to the table.  She has done an exemplary job in reaching out to industry during her tenure as acting secretary, since her appointment to that role in July 2011.  Her experience in state government and expertise in transportation are sorely needed to ensure that IDOT continues to deliver services to Illinois citizens in a professional and cost-effective manner.  In making the appointment, Governor Quinn said that Ann Schneider "will serve the people of Illinois well with her skills and commitment to improving state programs and services."  The IRTBA commends this decision and looks forward to working with Secretary Schneider as we promote a fast, safe and efficient transportation system in Illinois.
