The Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association commends the Illinois Tollway for embarking on a needed program to improve Illinois' transportation system.  By pursuing Chicagoland Metropolitan Agency for Planning's recommendations for improvements, the Tollway demonstrates its commitment to sound, comprehensive regional planning.  And the timing of new construction couldn't be better for the Tollway - with a sluggish economy, pricing is more competitive than ever. 

The road-building industry is committed to designing and building Tollway projects in the most innovative and "green" manner possible.  The Illinois Tollway's Move Illinois: The Illinois Tollway Driving the Future program identified waste reduction and recycling initiatives and as part of its plan to adopt the "cleanest and greenest program in history". Waste reduction and pavement recycling will continue to be top priorities of the transportation industry. Industry supports the Tollway's programmatic efforts to diminish the amount of virgin materials used in construction and divert landfill waste. The industry commends the Tollway on this bold vision to provide the citizens of Illinois with an integrated transportation system that is fast, safe and efficient.
