| | March is Red Cross Month. Show your support for the Missouri-Illinois Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross by donating blood, hosting a blood drive at your workplace, or volunteering your time.
The Red Cross began helping people 131 years ago by responding to disasters, assisting members of the military, teaching lifesaving skills and serving as one of the largest blood suppliers in the United States. Approximately every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood and 44, 000 units of blood are needed each day. Blood donations are used for heart surgeries, joint-replacement surgeries, organ transplants, premature babies, leukemia and cancer treatments, and much more. Catch the spirit of Red Cross Month this March and carry it with you throughout the year. St. Anthony's Medical Center's four Urgent Care Centers are offering spring sports and camp physicals for school-age children, with no appointment required. All four Urgent Care Centers are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week, and physicals will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, from March 1 through April 30. Typically, the cost of the physical exam is $55; but, with a coupon that will be available beginning March 1, on St. Anthony's website. The cost is only $39. Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card; insurance coverage does not apply. |
