| There is an email circulating to various Kirkwood area businesses trying to sell a "2011-2012 City of Kirkwood Area Magnetized Information Guide". Please be alert, if you choose to participate, this is NOT a Chamber sponsored program and we are in no way affiliated with the production of the magnets. |
Styrofoam Recycling Comes To Kirkwood
|
The City of Kirkwood will be the first municipality in St. Louis County, and one of the first in the region, to accept polystyrene foam, most commonly known as Styrofoam™, for recycling. Polystyrene foam will now be accepted for recycling at the City's Scheidegger Recycling Depository, 350 S. Taylor. The City has contracted with Midwest Recycling & Shredding to handle the materials.
The following will be accepted: · Foam packaging applications, including block or shape forms and "peanuts" · Food packaging that has been cleaned, such as disposable plates, cups, meat trays, egg cartons, carry-out containers. Please Note: Food containers must be completely clean. They will not accept containers with any oil or food stains left behind. These cannot be recycled. · Foam sheets from commercial and flat roofing insulation · Ice chest coolers, wine shippers, molded-end caps and corners |
