Someone recently said to me, "I always try to have a coach in my life." I had to think about that for a minute. Did I have a coach in my life? And why would I want one?
Definition of coach (verb)
To train; to teach; to instruct; to guide; to counsel - Coaching is the practice of supporting an individual to achieve a specific personal or professional result.
This definition brought to mind several other words and thoughts; mentoring, training, practice. Resources for learning, growth, expansion, support. Everything you need to achieve your goal, whether that's a winning season, running a marathon, or meeting a sales goal. That's what The Kirkwood-Des Peres Area Chamber of Commerce represents for me; a great coaching experience; learning, growth, support. It's all there, in a high-performance coaching culture, bringing you and your team to success.
Signing on:
As a new member of The Chamber; veteran members like Andrew Huber and David Hilgendorf jumped in and made me feel welcome. But their welcome wasn't just about glad-handing and "Welcome to the team!" They broke me in with networking boot camp, and showed me how to meet people and get the most out of my time at every event.
Practice, Practice, Practice:
As I got to know more members, the networking became easier. Everyone I meet is a potential referral source, and the more at ease I become with each and every exchange, the more prepared I am for specific questions about my business.
Expertise, please!
There is no lack of resources in this Chamber. The level of speakers, events, and professionals at our disposal is profound. We are very lucky to have such auspicious company on our team.
Bragging rights:
As an Ambassador I have the opportunity to share my success stories, and "coach" the members around me. It's been a great organization to be a part of, and a great coaching experience.
Thanks, Coach!
