Message From The President

As a kid, and even in my high school and college years, I used humor to keep me out of trouble. Later in life I found out that police officers could seldom find the humor in minor traffic violations. At times like that it was necessary to enlist the aid of an attorney. Business persons often avoid utilizing attorney services and sometimes find themselves in deeper trouble that if they had first called a lawyer for advice. Have you had a dispute that can't be resolved even though you've tried? Do you know when it is appropriate to file a small-claims lawsuit or how this form of litigation is another tool for your business to use? Do you know what Workers' Compensation is, who owes it and who doesn't? Do you really understand tax matters involved in starting, operating and closing a business? Have you ever wondered what effect the Missouri Court system has on your business? Or, what an Independent contractor classification means according to law? Do you realize the impact of the Affordable Care Act on your business? Are you sure about your trademarks and copyrights? Then why not take advantage of Business Boot Camp sponsored by American Eagle Credit Union and Streams Benefit Services beginning Feb. 17 at 7:30 am at the Chamber office.
