Legislative Breakfast Meeting at MCC

 

A breakfast for area legislators was held on November 30, hosted by MCC's legislative advocacy committee, the MCC Foundation and the college's Regional Advisory Committee. The roundtable discussions focused on budget allocation methodology, community engagement and private funding & grants, the education/facilities master plan and the Downtown Manchester partnership, manufacturing programs at MCC and the upcoming NEASC reaccreditation. Eight legislators were in attendance; they were joined by six MCC students who assisted the facilitators in presenting the impact on students that proposed programs will have.

Please bring an unwrapped children's gift to one of the drop boxes, located outside the Student Activities Office (L-154c), outside of Student Affairs (L-287), or in the Veteran's OASIS (L-101).

International Film Series

December 9, 2011, 7:00 PM, SBM Charitable Foundation Auditorium

 

Exit Through the Gift Shop (United States/United Kingdom) - The story of how an eccentric French shop keeper and amateur film maker attempted to locate and befriend grafitti artist Banksy, only to have the artist turn the camera back on its owner. The film contains footage of Banksy, Shephard Fairey, Invader and many of the world's most infamous graffiti artists at work. Nominated for 2011 Academy award for Best Documentary.

Holiday Festival

Saturday, December 10, 2011, 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM AST Lobby 

 

The MCC Dance Club, along with Student Activities, is hosting a Holiday Festival for children ages 1-12 years old. This festival targets children in the area who, due to the economic situation, might not receive much for the holidays.

 

Please consider donating an unwrapped toy for this cause. Toys can be dropped off at AST T313 or left with Brenda St. Peter, AST T302. For more information, please call x2691.

 

If you know of any children who might want to attend this festival please have them call to register. Faculty and staff are welcome to attend with their children but are asked to supply a wrapped gift with their child's name on it before December 10. There will be crafts, games and snacks; Santa will hand out the gifts to the children.

 

Volunteers are needed for this event...we are in need of "Santa" and any other helpers we can get. Members of other clubs who need to do community service this can be counted as such. To sign up to volunteer, please email Wanda Haynes.

 

Winter Arts Festival

December 16, 2011, 6:00 PM, SBM Charitable Foundation Building

 

The Winter Arts Festival features work presented by Fine Arts students and vocal and musical performances by Music students. Student films will also be presented. Refreshments are served and all are welcome. For more information contact: Susan Classen-Sullivan  or call x2693. Admission is free.

The newly formed Leadership Institute is proud to announce the official launch of its new employee development program. At the heart of this Leadership Institute is its commitment to cultivating a campus culture of professional growth and leadership for our community.

 

Through the support of our dedicated faculty, staff and administrators we have assembled what we believe to be an inspirational and informative calendar of workshops for all.
