2011 Annual Fund Kick-Off

 

The Office of Institutional Advancement and Community Engagement is proud to announce the launch of the 2011 Annual Fund Campaign. The Annual Fund campaign helps to sustain excellence across every aspect of academic and student life. It supports programs, but most importantly it supports people - motivated students, exceptional faculty and passionate staff.

Holiday Festival/ Toys for Tots

Monday, December 5, 2011, 2:00 PM- 5:00 PM Lowe Lobby

 

MCC SGA would like to invite all clubs, departments, and all of the MCC community to a Holiday Festival! We will be holding the festival in Lowe lobby, on December 5, 2011, from 2:00pm- 5:00pm. Come join us, with Fah Who For-aze, and Dah Who Dor-aze, bring your favorite holiday food and treats, and meet the SGA at our Festivus table! We will also be accepting unwrapped toys for the USMC Toys for Tots drive, from November 20, 2011 to December 8, 2011 outside of the Student Activities Office, and at the Holiday Festival.

 

Holiday Festival

Saturday, December 10, 2011, 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM AST Lobby 

 

The MCC Dance Club along with Student Activities is hosting a for children ages 1-12 years old. This festival is targeting children in the area who, due to our economic situation, might not receive much for the holidays.

 

We are asking the college community to please donate an unwrapped toy for this cause. The toys can be dropped off at AST T 313 or left with Brenda St. Peter, AST T302. For more information please call extension 2691.

 

If you know of any children who might want to attend this festival please have them call to register. Faculty and staff are welcome to attend with their children but are asked to supply a wrapped gift with their child's name on it before December 10, 2011. There will be crafts, games, and snacks. Santa will hand out the gifts to the children.

Spotlights

Manchester Community College Cougar's Women's Basketball Team

 

On November 10, 2011 the MCC Women's basketball team started the season when they took on Gateway Community College earning a 49-35 victory. 

 

On Saturday afternoon, November 12, 2011, the Cougars hosted top ranked Onondaga Community College. OCC stepped up its ranking handing MCC a 76-35 defeat.  In both games MCC's Lindsey Nash, Elise Chase and Amy Bellone led in scoring. 

 

The young MCC squad then took on Holyoke Community College on November 17, 2011 earning another victory. Their next home game is November 29, 2011, at 6:00 PM versus Springfield Technical CC. MCC is 2-1 so far this season.
