ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Is coming up in June! I want to thank everyone who has supported my business in my first year. I love my career and my passion has not faded. Happy Mother's Day!
Mothers Day was conceptualized in America by Julia Wards Howell who penned the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Julia's Mothers day came about during the Civil War. It was a peace movement that tried to appeal to the mothers that had sons that fought in the great North and South war. Her proclamation was introduced in 1870, but it failed to take hold nationally.
Anna Reeves Jarvis is the one who took an adaptation of Julia's holiday to help re-unite families and neighbors that had been divided so deeply during the conflict. The group held a Mothers day friendship day.
After Anna Reeves died in 1908, her daughter Anna M. petitioned her church and they held the first official Mother's day event. Anna devoted her life into creating Mother's Day. She petitioned local and state governments and in 1914 President Wilson made it a National Observance Day.
Mother's Day is about saying thanks. We look to Moms for guidance, understanding and love. We may sometimes forget how many things moms do for us in our lifetime, but at least for one day. We can say thank you for loving us.
