Neuro-Muscular Therapy
Neuro-Muscular massage targets pain. The massage works the trigger point muscles in the body. We all have experienced Sciatica to a certain degree. We have experienced stiffness in the neck which causes a loss in range of motion. Some of us has had heel pain that is caused by Plantar Fasciitis. Medical Massage helps with many of these symptoms, because it is caused muscularily.
Lets start with a common one, Sciatica. Sciatica is caused by an entrapment of the nerve. The trigger muscles are the Piriformis, QL,(low back) and Psoas Major. By releasing the tightness in the muscles and returning them to its normal resting length. Sciatica's symptoms can be alleviated or vanish altogether.
Neck pain in which stiffness occurs that causes ROM (Range of Motion) loss can also be fixed. The trigger muscle is your subscapularis which is part of your rotator cuff muscles. By releasing this muscle and return it back to its normal resting length will conquer the problem.
Plantar Fasciitis is heel pain cause by the shortening of the Soleus muscle. By moving the Gastrocnemius over (the bulk of your calf) and returning the Soleus to its normal resting length can cure the problem.
These massages are performed to help the client return to thier normal activities as quickly as possible. The massage can be painful to a certain extent, but the relief it provides can be priceless.
